ALBANY, N.Y. –  Russell Sage College freshman guard Syrita Faraj (Troy, NY/Tamarac) was named the Empire 8 Conference Rookie of the Week for the period ending Sunday, November 14.

She averaged 15.7 points on 51.6 percent shooting and 6.7 rebounds as the Gators started the season 2-1. Faraj established career highs of 25 points and 11 rebounds in Sunday's win vs. Salve Regina.

Looking ahead, Sage (2-1) plays at Skidmore on Wednesday at 5:30 pm.
