Megan Flynn tapped for E8 All-Tournament Team

 

Hilton, NY–With the wrap of the 2019-2020 Empire 8 Women's Basketball Championship, the league has released the All-Tournament Team. Sage, which advanced to the championship game for the first time, earned the league's runner-up trophy after an impressive 15-12 mark with a 10-4 record in conference play.

Sage's graduate player Megan Flynn (Hoosick Falls, NY/Hoosick Falls Central) added All-Tournament Team honors to her growing list of accomplishments this season. Named to the league's All-Star First Team last week, Flynn added a career-best 28 points and picked up her team-leading 12th double-double of the year after hauling in 17 rebounds in the team's 82-75 win over Utica College in the semifinals. Flynn added 17 points in the first half and finished the night making 9-of-14 shots from the floor and 10-of-13 from the line as Sage held a 48-41 edge on the boards over Utica.

Against St. John Fisher, Flynn finished the game with 12 points and added six rebounds with three steals. For the tournament, she averaged 20.0 ppg and 11.5 rpg, while shooting 53.8% from the floor and 2.0 steals.

A team captain this season and an Empire 8 First Team honoree, she wraps her stellar career with 877 points, 684 rebounds, 44 blocked shots and a 51.9% field goal percentage in 86 appearances. She is the program's 12th all-time leading scorer while standing fifth in career rebounds and tied for eighth in blocked shots. On the 2019-2020 season, she was the team's high scorer eight times, while also leading the team in rebounding 18 times. She added 12 double-double on the year and wraps her career with 19 double-doubles.
