Sage falls to Skidmore, 70-66
Albany, NY — The Sage Colleges' women's basketball team hosted the Thoroughbreds of Skidmore College on Wednesday night in a non-conference game. Sophomore guard Jessica Centore (Milford, CT/Milford) scored a game high 23 points and sophomore forward Toyin Koleoso (Wari, Nigeria/The O'Neal School (NC) pulled down a game best 16 rebounds to lead Skidmore to a 70-66 non-league win at Kahl Gym Wednesday night. The Thoroughbreds and Gators are now both 2-2 for the season.
 
Sophomore guard Kate McCarney (Wading River, NY/Riverhead) scored 19 points for the guests and junior guard Sydney Tsutsui (Northridge, Ca/Harvard Westlake School) added nine in the victory. Skidmore shot 50% for the game, including 50% in each half, and had a 38-31 rebounding advantage.
 
Senior forward Megan Flynn (Hoosick Falls, NY/Hoosick Falls Central) had team highs of 19 points and 13 rebounds to post the double-double for Skidmore. Senior guard Gessica Patregnani (Troy, NY/Lansingburgh) also tied for the team high with 19 points and sophomore guard Sammy Pasinella (Troy, NY/Mechanicville) scored 10 with team highs of five assists and three steals. Sage made 75% of the three throw attempts and shot 39% while forcing 25 turnovers.
 
Sage led 22-16 after the first and took a 38-32 lead into the half. But the visitors outscored the hosts 21-11 in the third quarter.
 
Bowman checks in with 739 career points and is 15th. Bowman also has 608 career rebounds as well and fifth. 
 
Sage is back in action on November 23 hosting Smith College in a 1 p.m. non-conference contest in Kahl Gym. Skidmore College hosts Middlebury College on November 23 in a 2 p.m. contest.
