Sage drops championship game to Marymount

Arlington, VA — The Sage Colleges' women's basketball team faced the host Saints of Marymount University on the championship game of the Marymount Pablo Coto Tournament. Sage led 24-23 at the half, but Marymount had a dominating third quarter and triumphed, 69-46. Marymount is now 3-0, while Sage drops to 2-1.

For the Gators, guard Kaitlyn Bowman (Chateaugay, NY/Saranac) led the way with 13 points with eight rebounds and four assists. She hit 7 –of-10 free throws for the Gators.  Bowman earned a spot on the All-Tournament Team for her play.

Junior forward Madasyn Bush (Pottersville, NY/North Warren Central) also scored in double digits with an 11 point showing. She tallied five rebounds with a steal in the contest.

Senior forward Megan Flynn (Hoosick Falls, NY/Hoosick Falls Central) had six points with seven rebounds, and block with a steal. Senior guard Gessica Patregnani (Troy, NY/Lansingburgh) had two three pointers with six points and a pair of assists for Sage.

Marymount had four players finish in double digit scoring led by the double-double from forward Katie McShea with 17 points and 13 rebounds.

Patregnani now has 512 points with 111 career three-point baskets. She is fifth on the career three-point list now. Bowman checks in with 734 career points and is now 15th having surpassed Macie Holmes with 733 career points. Bowman also has 605 career rebounds as well and in now fifth behind Susanne Booth with 633 rebounds.

Sage is back in action on November 20 hosting Skidmore College in a 5 p.m. non-conference game at Kahl Gym on Wednesday.
