SAGE WOMEN'S BASKETBALL TEAM POSTS 74-57 WIN OVER FERRUM AS PASINELLA STARS

Arlington, VA — The Sage Colleges' women's basketball team travelled to Virginia to compete in the Marymount University's Pablo Coto Tournament. Sage faced Ferrum College in the opening game and came away with a 74-57 win. With the victory, the Gators are now 2-0, while Ferrum falls to 0-2 on the year.

Sophomore guard Sammy Pasinella (Troy, NY/Mechanicville) exploded for a career-high 22 points after making 6-12 shots from the floor. She also buried three three-pointers, while going a perfect 7-7 from the line.

Senior forward Megan Flynn (Hoosick Falls, NY/Hoosick Falls Central) had a double-double as she added 19 points with 13 rebounds. She was perfect shooting 100% as she made all eight field goals she attempted in the game.

Sage's guard Kaitlyn Bowman (Chateaugay, NY/Saranac) added six points with eight rebounds, while senior guard Gessica Patregnani (Troy, NY/Lansingburgh) added 11 points and added two three-pointers.

For the game, Sage shot 50.0% (27-54) from the floor and made 5-of-11 from three-point range (45.5%). The Gators also held the Panthers to 32 rebounds, while collecting 42 rebounds in the contest.

With her scoring efforts on Tuesday night, Patregnani now has 507, while Bowman has 719 points and is ranked 17th on the Sage all-time scoring list. Patregnani ranks fifth in career three-pointers in 79 games played as she now has 111.

Bowman, who sat out last year while working on her academics and is now a graduate student, has 713 career points, putting her at No. 17 on the all-time scoring list, while her 597 rebounds is now fifth as she moved ahead of Elizabeth Pearl's 591 rebounds.

Sage is back in action on November 16 at the Marymount University Pablo Coto Tip-off Tournament in the finals, facing the winner of Friday's Marymount vs.  Haverford match-up. Sage will play in the championship at 7:30 p.m.
