Trio of Gators honored by Empire 8

Albany, NY—Sage's senior guard Emily Parslow (Fonda, NY/Fonda-Fultonville) was named to the 2018-2019 Empire 8 Women's Basketball First Team on Friday. Joining her on the Honorable Mention Team is junior forward Megan Flynn (Hoosick Falls, NY/Hoosick Falls Central), while senior  Danielle Stannard (Valley Falls, NY/Hoosic Valley Central) was selected to the Empire 8 Women's Basketball Sportswomen Team.

Parslow had another impressive season and wraps her outstanding career with a number of accomplishments on her resume. She is Sage's all-time three-point leader 256 three-pointers and once again broke the single-season three-point record for the second straight year after adding 86 on the campaign. Parslow wraps up her Gator career ranked third all-time in scoring with her 1,370 points. In addition, she broke the career free throw percentage mark as she finished with an 81.5% (202-248).  She was the Gator high scorer 10 times on the season, while also breaking the Sage single-game record for most three-point baskets with 8 against RPI (11/20/18). Parslow also added a personal-best 35 points against Nazareth this year and that effort is the third most-points scored in a single game for the Gators.

Flynn led the team this year with her five double-doubles and added a 12.5 ppg average, which was second on the squad. She led Sage with an 8.1 rpg average and hauled in 178 rebounds, while adding 275 points. Through her three season with the Gators, she has already climbed to the No. 20 spot on the career rebounding list with 392 boards, while adding 26 career blocks, which also ranks her 14th on the career list. Flynn was the high scorer seven times this year and high rebounder on nine occasions.

Senior guard Danielle Stannard scored a career-high seven points and her team high six assists also produced a career high in her final game at Sage against Hartwick earlier this week. She earned a spot on the 2018-2019 Empire 8 Women's Basketball Sportswoman of the Year Team. The Empire 8 Conference emphasizes that "Competing with Honor and Integrity" is an essential component of a student-athlete's experience in conjunction with an institution's educational mission. These honorees have distinguished themselves and consistently exhibit the critical traits as outstanding sportswomen.
