Utica, NY— Sage's women's basketball team travelled to Utica College on Tuesday evening for an Empire 8 match-up with the Pioneers.  In a back and forth battle, Utica game up with the game-winning shot with just 0:05 left to play as Nicolete Conklin hit the game-winning three pointer to record the 84-82 win. Utica is now 7-13 overall and 2-9 in the Empire 8, while Sage falls to 10-11 overall and 5-6 in the league.

Junior forward Megan Flynn (Hoosick Falls, NY/Hoosick Falls Central) was the high-scorer for Sage with her 21 points after connecting on 10-of-17 from the floor.

Gator freshman forward Giuliana Pritchard (Amsterdam, NY/Amsterdam) had her second straight double-double as she finished with 14 points and 13 rebounds. Senior forward Emily Parslow (Fonda, NY/Fonda-Fultonville) and junior guard Gessica Patregnani (Troy, NY/Lansingburgh) both collected 17 points for Sage as the pair both finished with five three-pointers. Parslow, who is Sage's all-time three-point leader now has 238, while Patregnani has 105 and is now fifth on the Gator career three-point list. Parslow has 1,285 career points and is the third all-time leading scorer. The 17 points for Patregnani was a season-high bettering her 15 point effort from two games this season.

Senior guard Macie Holmes (Amsterdam, NY/Mekeel Christian Academy) scored eight points with nine a career-best nine assists. Holmes surpassed the 700 career point plateau and is now No. 17 on the career scoring list as she has 702 points and moved ahead of Chelsea Martin (2010-2014).

Utica's Nicolette Conklin finished with a game-high 25 points and hit five three-pointer in the action including the game-winner, while Sydney Przygoda added a double-double with 20 points and 4 boards.

Sage is back in action Friday, February 8 at Houghton College for 5:30 p.m. road league contest with the Highlanders.
