Pride top Gators at Cruzin Classic

Fort Lauderdale, FL— Sage's women's basketball team wrapped up play on Friday afternoon competing in the Cruzin Classic. Facing the Pride of Widener University, Sage fell 68-51. Widener improves to 12-2 on the year, while Sage is now 5-4 on the year. Widener held a 42-30 lead at the break and got a game-high 18 points from Devan Rimmer to earn the win.

Senior guard Emily Parslow (Fonda, NY/Fonda-Fultonville) picked up 17 points for Sage in the action and made five three-point baskets with three steals. Sage's all-time three-point leader, Parslow now has 207 and is also adding to her scoring resume. Parslow has 1,100 career points and ranks fourth on the all-time scoring list, while also ranking third on the career list with 312 assists, and 17th with 124 steals and has now played in 88 games as a Gator putting her 13th on the list for most games played.

Sage newcomer Giuliana Pritchard (Amsterdam, NY/Amsterdam) added nine points with nine rebounds, while rookie forward Emily Pike (Ticonderoga, NY/Ticonderoga) added eight points with six rebounds in the contest. Sophomore forward Madasyn Bush (Pottersville, NY/North Warren Central) scored six points with five rebounds and three assists for the Gators in the action.

Senior guard Macie Holmes (Amsterdam, NY/Mekeel Christian Academy) added five points with five assists in the contest as well. Holmes boasts 621 career points, while standing third with her 137 career three-point baskets made. She is also 12th in career assists with 198 having moved ahead of Frankie Pearson (191) and Gen Schoff (197). Holmes is also now tied for 8th all-time having played in 91 games at Sage.

The Gators will open Empire 8 play on January 4 hosting Utica College in a 5 p.m. league contest in Kahl Gym.
