Parslow breaks Sage three-point record as Sage drops contest at Cruzin Classic

Fort Lauderdale, FL— Competing in the Cruzin Classic on Thursday and Friday, Sage's women's basketball team opened play on Thursday evening taking on the Presidents of Washington & Jefferson. The Presidents held a 41-26 lead at the half and collected a 75-61 win over the Gators. The win puts W & J at 7-5 overall, while Sage falls to 5-3.

Senior guard Emily Parslow (Fonda, NY/Fonda-Fultonville) started the game tied for the most career three-point baskets with Frankie Pearson (2013-2017) with 200. On the day, Parslow added two three pointers and finished with 10 points, six assists and four rebounds. She now holds the three-point record with 202, while elevating her resume to include 1,083 points and moved ahead of Megan Bowman (2011-2015, 1,080 points) and Pearson (1,081 points) and is now the Gators' fourth all-time leading scorer.

Junior guard Gessica Patreganani (Troy, NY/Lansingburgh) added her second straight 15 point performance and made five three pointers in the contest. She is currently 10th on the career three-point list with 84 treys.

Senior guard Macie Holmes (Amsterdam, NY/Mekeel Christian Academy) scored 12 points in the game with two rebounds and four assists and now has 616 career points with 193 assists. She moved ahead of Pearson in career assists as she has 193 (Pearson, No. 13, 191 career assists) and now 136 career made three-point baskets and is third on the Gator career list.

W & J got a game-high 25 points from  sophomore forward Maria Lawhorne (Pittsburgh, PA/Plum) as she made 10-of-14 field goals to pace the team on Thursday.  Senior forward Danielle Parker (Canonsburgh, PA/Canon-McMillan) added a double-double as she netted 18 points with 13 rebounds and three blocked shots.

The Gators will face Widener University on December 21 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida in a 2 p.m. match-up in the Cruzin Classic.
