Albany, NY— Sage's junior forward Megan Flynn (Hoosick Falls, NY/Hoosick Falls Central) earned a citation from the Empire 8 as this week's Women's Basketball Player of the Week.

In a 2-0 week for Sage, Flynn was instrumental with a 21-point effort on a road win over Skidmore. She backed that up with 20 points in a record-setting 115-111 win over Westfield State. She shot 73.9% from the floor (and was 17-23) for the week and averaged 8.5 rebounds per game as well. She was 9-11 from the floor vs WSU.

Sage's women's basketball team earned a pair of come from behind victories last week beating Skidmore College, 69-68 and then topping Westfield State University, 115-111.

Against Skidmore, Flynn added 21 points and then was instrumental in the Gators' record-setting win over Westfield State University, 115-111. The 115 points by Sage broke the previous single-game scoring mark of 100 points (vs. College of St. Elizabeth, 1/7/2001). The combined 226 points scored in the contest is a school-record for both Sage and Westfield State. Overall on the season, Sage is now 5-2.

Sage had a rough start to the game having committed 27 first-half turnovers, but emerged from the locker room at the break and took control of the action. After trailing by as many as 13 points, Sage shot 57.8% from the floor in the second half and finished the day with 15 made three-point baskets, also tying the record for most made three-pointers (15 vs. Purchase, 1/17/17) as well and made just 9 turnovers in the second half and scored 41 points alone in the third quarter.

On the season, Flynn is the team's second leading scorer with 105 points, good enough for a 15.0 ppg average. She leads Sage on the boards with her 9.0 rpg average and is also tops with her 62.1% field goal percentage (41-66).

The Gators travel to Florida to compete in the Crusin Classic and will take on Washington & Jefferson and Widener University on December 20 and 21 in Fort Lauderdale, FL.
