The Gators improved to 4-2 while the Thoroughbreds fell to 2-6.

Senior guard Emily Parslow (Fonda, NY/Fonda-Fultonville) scored 17 points with a season best six assists. She now has 1,058 career points at Sage, which ranks sixth all-time. Freshman forward Emily Pike (Ticonderoga, NY/Ticonderoga) added 11 points (tying her career high) with a career and game high 11 rebounds for her first career double-double. Sage had a strong 48-35 rebounding advantage over the hosts. The Gators shot 39% and forced 21 turnovers.

Haley English led the Thoroughbreds with 14 points, six rebounds and six assists before fouling out. Taylor Ong and Sydney Tsutsui scored 13 points each and Kate McCarney added 11 for Skidmore, which shot 46% but 50% from the line (10 of 20 free throw attempts).

Skidmore led 20-15 after the first quarter and 35-23 at halftime. The Thoroughbreds had a 14-point lead at 42-28 with 7:57 left in the third quarter. But the Gators went on a 15-0 run in 4:09 for a 43-42 lead. Skidmore regained the lead and led 51-48 after three quarters.

Parslow gave the Gators a 64-63 lead with a three-pointer with 1:28 left in the fourth and she fed Pike for a 66-63 lead with 43 seconds remaining in regulation. Skidmore's Ong made it a one-point game again with her basket with 32 ticks remaining but Parslow made two free throws with 18 seconds left for the 68-65 Sage lead. After a visiting foul, a Skidmore player missed two free throws with seven seconds remaining and Parslow got the rebound and was fouled. She made the second of two free throws with six seconds left for a 69-65 lead, which proved huge as Tsutsui hit a three with one second remaining. The hosts could not get the ball back and the Gators got the win.

The Gators will host Westfield State this Saturday, December 8 at 1 p.m. at Kahl Gym. This will be the final home game for the 2018 portion of the schedule.
