Emily Parslow saluted as Empire 8 Women's Basketball Player of the Week

Albany, NY—With the release of the Empire 8 Weekly Awards, Sage's senior guard Emily Parslow (Fonda, NY/Fonda-Fultonville) added another honor to the start of her senior year. She was honored by the Empire 8 as this week's Women's Basketball Player of the Week.

Parslow poured in a Sage single-game record with eight three pointers and finished with 24 points and seven rebounds in the Gators lone game last week as they travelled to RPI on November 20. She collected her 1,000th career point in the early minutes of the first quarter and cruised to a game-best 24 points after making eight three pointers. She is the seventh player to collect her 1,000th career point and now has 1,019 points and is currently seventh all-time in scoring. She has 185 career three-pointers and is closing in on the all-time record currently standing at 200 and set by Frankie Pearson (2013-2017). Parslow also broke the Gators' single-game record as she buried eight three-point baskets, bettering the mark held by several players with seven.

Through three games on the 2018-2019 season, Parslow has an 18.7 ppg average on 56 points and leads the team with her 15 three-pointers. She is averaging 34.0 minutes per game, while shooting 39.5% from three-point range and is a perfect 3-3 from the free throw line.
