Parslow pours in 24 including her 1000th point; Gators drop action at RPI

Troy, NY—The Engineers of RPI hosted the Gators of Sage in women's basketball action at the ECAV and posted a 65-56 win. The victory puts RPI at 4-1, while the loss is the first of the year for the Gators.

RPI led 31-24 at the half and despite a pair of strong runs in the second half were able to hold off the Gators. RPI's senior forward LaKissa Martin (Las Vegas, NV/Rancho) finished the night with a double-double on 23 points with 10 rebounds. Joining her in double-digit scoring was junior guard Ines Ortea (Madrid, Spain) as she had 20 points in the contest.

Sage's senior guard Emily Parslow (Fonda, NY/Fonda-Fultonville) had a banner night as she recorded her 1,000th career point in the early minutes of the first quarter and cruised to a game-best 24 points after making eight three pointers. She is the seventh player to collect her 1,000th career point and now has 1,019 points and is currently seventh all-time in scoring. She has 185 career three-pointers and is closing in on the all-time record currently standing at 200 and set by Frankie Pearson (2013-2017). Her eight three-pointer baskets broke Sage's single-game record that was held by four players with seven.

Junior forward Megan Flynn (Hoosick Falls, NY/Hoosick Falls Central) added eight points and eight rebounds for the Gators with three steals and two assists.

The Gators will face non-league will host Middlebury College next on November 29 at 7 p.m. in the Kahl Gym, while RPI returns to action on November 25 hosting Wheaton College (MA) at 1 p.m. in the ECAV.
