Patregnani, Parslow and Bowman lift Gators with their second half play as they beat Utica, 75-67

Albany, NY- The Sage Colleges' women's basketball team trailed 41-33 at the half and came back to beat Utica College 75-67 on Tuesday night in Empire 8 play. Sage collected the win to improve to 15-6 overall and 9-3 in the league, while Utica drops to 8-13 overall and 4-8 in the league.

Junior guard Kaitlyn Bowman (Dannemora, NY/Saranac) added 17 points in the second half to help the Gators overcome a 2 1point deficit. Bowman finished with 19 points and 14 rebounds with 12 defensive rebounds with three steals. Sophomore guard Gessica Patregnani (Troy, NY/Lansingburgh) added a personal best 24 points off the bench after making all five of her three point attempts in the game. She was red hot hitting 6-of-7 field goals, with a 7-8 effort from the line en route to her career-high game.

Junior guard Emily Parslow (Fonda, NY/Fonda-Fultonville) added 20 points as Sage finished the night shooting 50.0% for the game making 24-of-48 field goals.

Utica's senior guard Ashley Babb (Lynn, MA/Winthrop) added 17 points for the Pioneers with seven assists and six steals. Senior forward Alaina Tripp (Clyde, NY/Clyde-Savannah) and junior forward Briannah Floriah (Fort Plain, NY/Fort Plain) both connected for 14 points as well, while adding five rebounds apiece.

Utica led by as many as 11 points in the third quarter, 46-35 with 7:54 in the third before the Gators spurred by the play of Patregnani and sophomore Megan Flynn (Hoosick Falls,, NY/Hoosick Falls Central). Flynn added six points in the run and Patregnani added five points to cut the Pioneers' lead to only two points, 50-48 at the end of the quarter.

Bowman hit a layup to open the fourth quarter and tie the action at 50-50. She scored six of the next eight Sage points to help Sage take the lead for good and the game was never tied after that.

Parlsow moved into the No. 8 spot in career scoring on Tuesday and now has 892 points after moving past Susanne Booth (889 points, 1994-1998). She is also edging closer to the all-time three-point record as she is second with 157 behind the 200 three-pointers by Frankie Pearson (2013-2017), while also standing ranking fifth in career assists with 271.

Sage returns to action on Friday, February 9 hosting Houghton College in an 8 p.m. Empire 8 contest in Kahl Gym. Utica College returns to play on Feb. 8 at Hartwick College in an 8 p.m. Empire 8 contest.
