Schoff tallies 20 points as Sage wins 7th straight victory

Alfred, NY- Sage's women's basketball team collected their seventh straight win as they beat Alfred University on Friday night, 75-59. The Gators were paced by the play of senior forward Genevieve Schoff (Little Falls, NY/Little Falls) as she collected 20 points. With the win, Sage is now 11-3 overall and owns a perfect 5-0 record in the Empire 8. Alfred drops to 2-13 overall and 0-7 in the league.

Schoff added 20 points after making 9-of-20 field goals, while adding six rebounds, five assists and three steals. She is continuing her climb on the Sage scoring list and she is the program's No. 2 all-time leading scorer with 1,221 points, just 192 points away from the all-time mark of 1,412 points. Holding the record currently is Jocelyn Naple (1994-1998). Schoff is now just 10 rebounds away from moving into the No. 2 spot in rebounding as she has 778, just behind Amie Jefferson (788, 2011-2015).

Junior guard Kaitlyn Bowman (Dannemora, NY/Saranac) had a double-double with a career-best 18 rebounds. She added 15 points with six assists as well in the contest. Junior guard Emily Parslow (Fonda, NY/Fonda-Fultonville) tallied 14 points with four three-point baskets to help the Gators to the key conference win. Parslow has now played in 67 career games and is No. 2 with her 136 career three-pointers. She moved ahead of Kelly Murphy (772, 1999-2002) on scoring as she has 776 career points and is now 11th on the scoring list. Bowman surpassed the 600 career point plateau as she checks in with 607 points.

Sage will be in action next on Saturday, January 20 travelling to Houghton University for a 4 p.m. Empire 8 contest.
