Schoff and Bush collect double-doubles for Gators as they beat WCSU, 78-72

Albany, NY- Sage's women's basketball team hosted the Colonials of Western Connecticut State University on Monday afternoon in a non-conference game.  Sage's senior forward Genevieve Schoff (Little Falls, NY/Little Falls) tied her career-high with a double-double on 29points and 12 rebounds as Sage beat WCSU, 78-72. With the win, Sage has collected their fourth straight win to improve to 8-3 overall. With the loss, WCSU drops to 8-6.

Sage led 38-34 at the half as Schoff collected 15 in the first half and finished the day with 29 points, tying her personal-best of 29 points from the 2015-2016 season against Purchase (1/26/16). She hit 11-of-17 shots from the floor with a 6-8 effort from the line. She now has 1,184 career points which is third all-time at Sage on the career list. She also has 760 career rebounds which is also third. Her 102 career blocks ranks second.

Joining Schoff with a double-double was rookie forward Madasyn Bush (Pottersville, NY/North Warren Central) as she finished with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Junior guard Emily Parslow (Fonda, NY/Fonda-Fultonville) also collected 12 points with four assists for Sage as they held a 60-44 edge on the boards.

Sage's record book is being added to with every game the Gators play this season. Junior Kaitlyn Bowman (Dannemora, NY/Saranac) now has 568 career points to go with her 426 career rebounds. She is now 14th on the career rebounding list, while ranking in the Top 25 in career blocks (14). She is 15th with her 142 career assists and 24th in career games played (67). Parslow has now played in 64 career games, which stands 28th best. Parslow is now fifth in career assists (235), while ranking third in career three-pointers (124), just three away from moving into the No. 2 spot in the category. Junior guard Macie Holmes Amsterdam, NY/Mekeel Christian Academy) has racked up 455 career points after adding 98 career three pointers. She is Now tied for 7th in career three's, while also ranking 24th in 67 games played. Holmes is also now 17th in career assists with 132.

Sage will be in action next on January 11 travelling to Stevens for a 7 p.m. Empire 8 contest in Hoboken, NJ. Western Connecticut State University is back in action on January 10 hosting Keene State in a 2 p.m. contest.
