Gators Top Union, 59-47 in women's hoop play

Schenectady, NY- Sage's women's basketball team travelled to nearby Union College on Saturday afternoon for a non-conference match-up with the Dutchwomen.  Sage collected a 59-47 win to improve to 5-3 on the year, while Union drops to 2-4.

Junior Kaitlyn Bowman (Dannemora, NY/Saranac) and sophomore Gessica Patregnani (Troy, NY/Lansingburgh) finished with 13 points apiece as the Gators collected their second win of the week. Bowman added eight rebounds with four assists and a steal before fouling out of the contest. Off the bench Patregnani added 13 points with three baskets from beyond the arch.

Senior forward Genevieve Schoff (Little Falls, NY/Little Falls) added 11 points with seven rebounds, three assists, a block and two steals.

Sage had a commanding 32-17 lead at the half and cruised to the road win as eight different players scored in the action. Sage shot 60.0% from three-point range in the second half to ease to the win converting 3-5 shots.

Schoff continues her climb of the Gator records as she has now tallied 1,141 career points (No. 3), with 733 rebounds (No. 3), and has 101 career blocks (No. 2).

Sage's junior guard Emily Parslow (Fonda, NY/Fonda-Fultonville) now has 684 career points after adding nine on Saturday. She also has 118 career three-pointers which is third best at Sage.

Sage will be in action next on January 2 hosting Nazareth College at 8 p.m. in Kahl Gym in the team's first conference game as a member of the Empire 8 Conference.
