Sage Women Draw University of Mary Washington in NCAA Tournament; Gators to Travel to Amherst College

Albany, NY- The NCAA announced the 64 teams that will be competing in the 2017 NCAA Division women's tournament on Monday, February 27. Sage earned an automatic bid to the tournament on Saturday afternoon after the Gators won the Skyline Conference Championship by beating top seeded SUNY-Old Westbury, 72-66 in the finals. Sage (20-8) will face the Eagles of University of Mary Washington (Fredericksburg, VA) on Friday evening on the campus of Amherst College (Amherst, MA). Game time is at 5 p.m. on Friday night.

Tickets are $ 7 for general admission. Tickets are $ 4 for senior citizens, students, and children.

Sage will take on the Eagles, which earned an at-large bid and bring a record of 23-4 into the first round of the tournament. Game times will be announced on February 28. Ranked 19th in the most recent national poll, Mary Washington women's basketball team dropped a 74-58 decision at eighth ranked Christopher Newport University on Saturday in the 2017 Capital Athletic Conference championship.
