Sage falls on Senior Night to Rams

Albany, NY- The Sage Colleges' women's basketball team hosted the Rams of Farmingdale State College on Wednesday evening in a Skyline Conference contest.  The Rams posted the 67-59 win to collect the road win over Sage, improving to 12-9 overall and 10-5 in the league. Sage drops to 14-8 overall and is also 10-5 in the conference.

Prior to the contest, Sage honored senior guard Frankie Pearson (Hoosick Falls, NY/Hoosick Falls Central) in conjunction with Senior Night. With her start on Wednesday night, she tied the program's career games played record with her 101st appearance, a record she shares with Amie Jefferson (2011-2015). She finished with seven points and 11 rebounds with a pair of assists. She has now scored 980 career points, which ranks fifth all-time at Sage. She also owns the Gator career three-point record with 179.  

Junior forward Genevieve Schoff (Little Falls, NY/Little Falls) led the team with her 10th double-double of the season and her 20th career double-double after connecting for 23 points with 12 rebounds.  Schoff moved into the No. 6 position on the all-time career list as she has 949 points, just surpassing Karen Harris (940 points, 1991-1995). She also has 613 career rebounds which ranks fourth best as well at Sage, just 20 behind Susanne Booth (633 rebounds, 1994-1998).

Rookie guard Gessica Patregnani (Troy NY/Lansingburgh) connected for 10 points for Sage, while sophomore guard Emily Parlsow (Fonda, NY/Fonda-Fultonville) added nine points with four rebounds and three assists.

FSC's junior forward Essense Casey (Huntington Station, NY/Walt Whitman) added 21 points for the Rams with a strong showing at the charity stripe, having made 15-of-19 shots. Junior guard Tyra Harrison (Baldwin, NY/Baldwin) added 13 points with five steals as the Rams outscored Sage by a 40-28 margin in the second half after trailing 31-27 at the half.  Sophomore forward AJ Smith (Freeport, NY/Freeport) added 12 points before fouling out of the game and was joined in double-digit scoring by junior guard Liz Durchhalter (Franklin Square, NY/St. Mary's) as she added 11 points with four rebounds, five assists and five steals.

Sage is back in action on February 11 travelling to U.S. Merchant Marine Academy for a noon league contest, while Farmingdale State College hosts Mt. St. Mary College in 1 p.m. Skyline Conference game also on Saturday.
