Pearson and Schoff combine for 41 points in Gators' 96-51 win

Patochgue, NY- The Sage Colleges' women's basketball team travelled to face the Golden Eagles of St. Joseph's College-LI on Saturday afternoon in a Skyline Conference contest. Sage exploded for a season-best 96 points in the contest after beating SJC-LI, 96-51. With the win, Sage improves to 14-7 overall and 10-4 in the Skyline, while SJC-LI drops to 6-15 overall and 5-9 in the league.

Sage almost tied the program's single-game mark for most points in a game, 100 set in 2001 against the College of St. Elizabeth. Sage led 66-22 at the break after shooting a blistering 62.2% from the floor after making 29-of-47 field goals, while adding five three-pointers on a 5-10 effort. By game's end, Sage held an overwhelming 61-22 edge on the boards and shot 52.6% (41-78) and had 28 assists.

Senior guard Frankie Pearson (Hoosick Falls, NY/Hoosick Falls Central) finished with 21 points, including 13 first half points in the action. For the game, she had five three-pointers, converting 5-of-6 from three-point range. She has now played in 100 career games at Sage and is No. 2 in career games played, while adding 973 points and is the program's fifth all-time leading scorer. Already the program's career three-point record holder, she has 178.

Junior forward Genevieve Schoff (Little Falls, NY/Little Falls) just missed a double-double as she added 20 points with nine rebounds and made 10-16 shots from the floor.  Schoff has elevated her resume in the process with 926 points and is the seventh all-time scorer. She also has 601 career rebounds which ranks fourth best as well at Sage.

Sophomore guards Kaitlyn Bowman (Dannemora, NY/Saranac) and Emily Parlsow (Fonda, NY/Fonda-Fultonville) connected for 13 and 12 points, respectively for Sage. Rookie forward Megan Flynn (Hoosick Falls, NY/Hoosick Falls Central) added a personal-best 12 points off the bench with nine rebounds after making 5-of-9 shots from the floor.

Sage is back in action on February 8 hosting Farmingdale State College at 6 p.m. in Skyline Conference game in Kahl Gym. Prior to the game, Sage will honor Frankie Pearson in conjunction with Senior Night.
