Schoff becomes program's fourth all-time leading rebounder in loss at CMSV

Riverdale, NY- The Sage Colleges' women's basketball team travelled to face the Dolphins of the College of Mt. St. Vincent on Thursday night. CMSV posted the 67-51 win to improve to 13-6 overall with a 9-3 mark in conference play. The loss puts Sage at 13-7 overall and 9-4 in the Skyline.

CMSV led 31-21 at the half and despite outscoring the Dolphins in the third quarter, 14-16 and pulling within four points to open the fourth quarter, Sage could not overcome the deficit. Sophomore guard Emily Parlsow (Fonda, NY/Fonda-Fultonville) connected for the first basket of the fourth, a three-pointer and got Sage within striking distance, down 42-38 with 9:47 left in the game. CMSV answered right back and was led by the outstanding play of Ryan Doherty who led every player in the game.

Doherty netted 33 points on 12-21 shooting with nine rebounds, six assists, three steals and a block and was aided in the contest by Dez Browne with 11 points and Brittany Carroll with 10 points.

Parslow led the Sage player with her 15 points and seven rebounds with a pair of assists. Sophomore Kaitlyn Bowman (Dannemora, NY/Saranac) connected for 13 points with five rebounds, while junior forward Genevieve Schoff (Little Falls, NY/Little Falls) just missed a double-double.

Schoff finished with nine points with 13 rebounds on Thursday, elevating her resume in the process. A 2017 CoSIDA Academic All-District nominee, she surpassed the 900 career point plateau as she ranks seventh all-time with 906 points. She also became the program's fourth all-time leading rebounder with 592 rebounds, moving ahead of Elizabeth Pearl (591 rebounds, 1987-1991).  

Sage is back in action on February 4 on the road facing the Golden Eagles of St. Joseph's College-LI in a 1 p.m.  Skyline Conference game.
