New York, NY- The Sage College's women's basketball team captured the Plattsburgh State University Cardinal Classic Championship on Sunday and stand at 2-1 on the young season.

Sage's sophomore guard Kaitlyn Bowman (Dannemora, NY/Saranac) poured in 13 points on Sunday to lift Sage to the championship title and by week's end added 49 points. She was named the Skyline Conference Women's Basketball Co-Player of the Week honors to open the season, averaged 16.3 ppg with an impressive 7.3 rpg average. She added a career-best 23 points on opening night at WCSU. She shot 48.8% for the week from the line, while adding nine clutch free throws when needed.

Sage returns to action on Tuesday night travelling cross-town to face the Engineers of RPI in a 6 p.m. non-conference match-up at the EVAC on the RPI campus.
