Gator win streak halted with loss at Union

Schenectady, NY— The Sage College's women's basketball team travelled to nearby Union College on Monday night for a non-conference contest. The host Dutchwomen collected the 64-51 win to improve to 14-4 overall, while handing Sage just its third loss on the 2015-2016 season. Union snapped Sage's school-record 15-game win streak which had dated back to November 19, 2015 as the Gators drop to 16-3 on the year.

Union held a 34-27 lead and despite a late rally by Sage pulling within nine points, the Dutchwomen held on for the victory at Viniar Athletic Center.

For the Gators, rookie Emily Parlsow (Fonda, NY/Fonda-Fultonville) tallied a career-high 20 points while six three-pointers with four assists.  Sophomore forward Gen Schoff (Little Falls, NY/Little Falls) added nine points with eight rebounds, elevating her single-season free throw record to 99 shots made. She also now has 500 career points in her time at Sage.  Rookie guard Kaitlyn Bowman (Dannemora, NY/Saranac) also finished with nine points before fouling out of the contest.

Union got 16 points from Abby Katz while Sophia Berg hauled in 15 points as the team combined for a 56.0% shooting effort from the floor (27-47).

Sage returns to action on February 3 hosting St. Joseph's College–Brooklyn in a 6 p.m. Skyline Conference contest in Kahl Gym.
