Schoff garners second Skyline Player of the Week Citation

New York, NY— The Sage College's women's basketball team continues to garner attention and acclaim for the record-breaking season. The latest honor was bestowed to sophomore guard Gen Schoff (Little Falls, NY/Little Falls) as she was named the Skyline Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week for the second time this season.

Schoff, who was named the 2014-2015 Skyline Conference Rookie of the Year, is a candidate for the 2016 CoSIDA Academic All-District Team for her accomplishments both in the classroom and on the hardwood. Last week, she helped Sage to a 2-0 week and averaged 22.5 ppg, while adding 8.5 rpg with a 46.4 field goal percentage (13-28), and a blistering effort from the line as she converted 18-of-25 free throws.

She connected for a career-high 29 points in the team's win over Purchase on January 26 and tallied 12 rebounds. Against St. Joseph's College (LI), she converted her record 98th free throw of the season. She broke Sage's single-season free throw record with her 98th made shot, surpassing the effort held by both Denise Stafford (1992-1993) and Wendy Kuhn (1991-1992) with 88.

Second-year head coach Allison Coleman's Gators own a 16-2 record on the year while owning a perfect mark in Skyline Conference play with a 12-0 record. Sage is in action on Monday night visiting Union College for a 7 p.m. non-conference match-up. Sage will host St. Joseph's College-Brooklyn on February 3 at 6 p.m. in a Skyline Conference contest, before hosting regional rival Skidmore College on Saturday, February 6 at 1 p.m. in conjunction with the school's Take a Kid To the Game Day!
