Schoff and Pearson lead Gators past Purchase, 67-43

Albany, NY— The Sage College's women's basketball team hosted the Panthers of Purchase College in a  Skyline Conference game in Kahl Gym on Thursday night and tallied a 67-43 victory. Sage improves to 8-2 overall and 4-0 in the league riding a seven-game win streak. Purchase falls to 1-9 and 1-3 in the league.

Sage led 29-20 at the break after trailing the Panthers 13-11 at the end of the first quarter. Sage sophomore forward Gen Schoff (Little Falls, NY/Little Falls) connected for a double-double in the first half as she had 10 points and 10 rebounds with two steals and a block. By game's end, she had 22 points with 15 rebounds and has now score in double-digits in all but one game this year.

For Sage, junior forward Krystyn Knockwood (Troy, NY/Troy) finished with nine points after tallying seven points and five rebounds in the first stanza of action.  She continues to climb the career block list at Sage with 53 blocks, which is No. 4 all-time at Sage.  Junior guard Frankie Pearson (Hoosick Falls, NY/Hoosick Falls Central) finished with a season-high 21 points with seven rebounds.

For the Panthers, junior guard Allison Haugh (New York City, NY/Frank McCourt) picked up 15 points with 13 coming in the first half of play. Senior forward Elizabeth Osowiecki (Franklin Square, NY/H. Frank Carey) added 10 points with four rebounds and two steals for the Panthers.

Sage returns to action on December 12 travelling to New York City to face Yeshiva University in an 8:30 p.m. Skyline Conference contest to be held at CCNY's gym. Purchase College is also in action on December 12 playing at St. Joseph's College (LI) in a 1 p.m. league contest.
