Sage women's hoope team opens year on high note with 76-48 win over Mt. Ida

Keene, NH—The Sage College's women's basketball team opened the 2015-2016 season on Friday evening as the Gators competed in the Keene State College Tip-Off Tournament. Sage posted a convincing 76-48 win over Mt. Ida College in the opening round on Friday and will now face the Keene State Owls in Saturday's 3 p.m. Championship game.

Sophomore forward Gen Schoff (Little Falls, NY/Little Falls) tallied a team-best 18 points with eight rebounds to lead the Gators, while junior guard Frankie Pearson (Hoosick Falls, NY/Hoosick Falls Central) added 16 points with six steals. Schoff was 10-13 from the line, while handing out three assists with a steal.

Newcomers Macie Holmes (Amsterdam, NY/Mekeel Christian Academy) and Emily Parlsow (Fonda, NY/Fonda-Fultonville) added 12 and 10 points, respectively in their collegiate debuts.
