Knockwood's career night helps Gators down Purchase, 77-64 for 8th win in a row

Purchase, NY—The Sage College's women's basketball team travelled to Purchase College on Wednesday night for a Skyline Conference contest. After trailing at the half, 36-34, Sage went on to post a 77-64 road win.  Sage's win streak has grown to eight straight as the team is now 14-5 overall and 7-2 in the league. Purchase drops to 3-18 overall and 1-9 in the league.

Sage's senior guard Megan Bowman (Dannemora, NY/Saranac) finished the night with 23 points and is edging closer to her 1,000th career point.  She now has 993 career points and is just seven points away from becoming the newest member of Sage's 1,000 point club which has only three members.  She added four assists with four rebounds and three steals. Already the Gators' career assist leader, she now has 424 assists.

Sophomore forward Krystyn Knockwood (Troy, NY/Troy) had a career night for the Gators as she finished with 17 points and 13 rebounds, both personal bests. She shot an impressive 8-15 from the floor and added 13 of her points in the second half to pace Sage to the win.

Senior guard Krysta Vanacore (Poughhquag, NY/Our Lady of Lourdes) added 10 points with three three-point baskets to aid in the win as well as Sage opened the second half with a 5-0 run and never looked back.  Vanacore now has 63 career three-point baskets and moved into a tie with Amanda Crans (2006-2010) for the No. 7 spot on Sage's career list.

Sage returns to action on February 13 travelling to Mt. St. Mary College for a 5:30 p.m. Skyline Conference contest.
