A one-time two-sport student-athlete at Sage, Sara Tironi was a member of Sage's women's soccer team that garnered a spot in the 2012 Skyline Conference Tournament. She played in all 16 games as a rookie and finished as the team's third leading scorer with 8 points on 3 goals and 2 assists.

As a member of the basketball team in 2012-2013, she played in every game and made 21 starts. She averaged 6.9 ppg with a 6.1 rpg average. She had 33 steals as well with an impressive 45.3% field goal percentage (62-137). She connected for 16 points against NYU-Poly with a 14 rebound performance at Elmira College. She finished her rookie season as the top scorer on two occasions, while leading the team on the boards eight times.

As a sophomore last season, she started 24 of 27 games played and chipped in a personal-best 8.9 ppg with 4.6 rpg. Tironi averaged 22 minutes a game for the Skyline Conference Championship team and shot 46.4% from the floor (90-194), while connecting on 33 steals with 25 assists.  She was named to the Skyline Conference Honor Roll once last season (1/21/14), while adding 18 points twice on the year in match-ups with Farmingdale State and SUNY-Old Westbury. She also had 10 rebounds against Old Westbury.

She has played in 51 games at Sage and has a 7.7 ppg average with 404 points in two seasons of play, while adding an impressive 76.5 % free throw performance (98-128) as a Gator.

A graduate of Cambridge Central High School, she was a three-sport stand-out in high school. She was a 2010 All-State Second Team honoree as well as a member of the Wasaren All-League First Team that same season in soccer. She also served as the basketball team captain for two seasons and garnered numerous awards for her excellence on the hardwood. She is also an all-state weightlifter.

She guided her 2009 soccer team to a regional finals appearance, while her 2019 basketball squad was a state semifinalist. As a member of the 2010-2011 basketball team, she helped the team to a Section II Finals berth.

Named the Valedictorian in high school, Sara is a childhood education and mathematics major at Sage.  She also has a minor in both Spanish and middle school extension.  She has earned numerous selections to the Dean’s List, while also earning back to back selections to the Skyline Conference Scholar-Athlete Team.  She is a Kellas Scholar at Sage and was inducted into Phi Kappa Phi National Honor Society last year. Tironi is also the Vice President of Sage’s Math Club.

Her father Chris is a former national and world championship participant in wrestling and just missed a spot on the US Olympic Team. She is the daughter of Chris and Kim Tironi.
