Gators Rally to Down Penn State - Behrend

JAN PHYL VILLAGE, Fla. –  Down to its final out, Russell Sage College scored six runs to down Penn State - Behrend 8-4 this morning at the Auburndale Sports Complex. 

Pitcher/infielder Taylor Dicranian (Bennington, VT/Mt. Anthony Union), a graduate student, and senior outfielder Lauren Salmonese (Poughkeepsie, NY/Poughkeepsie) each laced two-run singles during the rally. The one by Dicranian, who went 3-for-4 with two runs scored and three RBI, and earned the victory in the circle, put RSC ahead 5-4. Salmonese provided the Gators some extra insurance markers with her base hit.

Sophomore outfielder Sierra Williams went 1-for-2 with two RBI for Penn State - Behrend (3-2).

The Gators also had a seventh-inning rally in them during the second game of their day against Dominican. Trailing 5-0 and being one-hit heading to their last licks, RSC plated three runs before falling to the undefeated Stars (8-0).

Outfielder Arianna Papas (Castleton, NY/Maple Hill), a graduate student, who took home E8 Player of the Week honors, knocked in two with a double to highlight the comeback attempt. The reigning E8 Player of the Year went 2-for-4 and scored a run in defeat. She finished the day 4-for-8 with three runs scored and two RBI. 

RSC (4-4) wraps up its time in Florida on Thursday vs. Monmouth and Concordia-Chicago.
