ALBANY, N.Y. –  Russell Sage College outfielder Arianna Papas (Castleton, NY/Maple Hill), a graduate student, was chosen the Empire 8 Conference Softball Player of the Week for the period ending Sunday, March 5. 

The reigning E8 Player of the Year slashed .429/.667/.478 across six games last week. Papas, who registered three multi-hit performances, totaled three runs scored, three doubles, and six RBI.

Looking ahead, the Gators (3-3) are back in action on Tuesday against Penn State - Behrend and Dominican

Anthony Union), a graduate student, and senior infielder Katelyn Rice (Albany, NY/Colonie Central) headlined the group of returning Gators…The trio each earned All-E8 honors last spring…Papas and Dicranian both have garnered NFCA All-Region accolades for the past two seasons…Sophomore catcher Serina Garmendiz (Hempstead, NC/Pine Bush), Papas, and Rice were voted co-captains.
