ALBANY, N.Y. – Russell Sage College senior outfielder Arianna Papas (Castleton, NY/Maple Hill) was named the Empire 8 Conference Player of the Week for the period ending Sunday, May 1.

Papas, who earned the accolade for the second time this spring, slashed .667/1.111/.739 with seven RBI and seven runs scored across six games last week. She recorded four multi-hit efforts to help the Gators go 4-2 and secure a spot in the E8 Championship Tournament for the second-straight spring.

Entering the postseason, the outfielder sits atop the conference in batting (.505), slugging percentage (.869), on-base percentage (.563), and ops (1.405).  She ranks in the top five in hits, RBI, doubles, triples, home runs, and runs scored.

RSC (15-19/8-6 E8) earned the three-seed in the upcoming E8 Championship Tournament. The double-elimination event, hosted by Alfred University, gets under way on Thursday.

Notes: The Gators are making their second-consecutive appearance in the E8 Championship Tournament...Papas was named the April 18 E8 Player of the Week.
