CLERMONT, Fla.  – Russell Sage College finished today's action at THE Spring Games by defeating Eastern Nazarene 8-6.

The Gators put up six runs in the first inning of the contest. Sophomore infielder Aly Murphy (Gill, MA/Turner Falls) and junior infielder Erika Markowski (Clifton Park, NY/Shenendehowa) each knocked in a pair with doubles to highlight the outburst.

After the Lions trimmed their deficit to 6-5 in the fifth, junior pitcher/infielder Makayla Lindsey (New Fairfield, CT/New Fairfield) gave RSC some breathing room with a two-run homer.

Senior infielder/pitcher Taylor Dicranian (Bennington, VT/Mt. Anthony Union) went 3-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI in the win. The lefty, who allowed just one run across 4.2 innings of relief to earn the victory in the circle, was one of four Gators to record multiple hits. Murphy, Markowski, and junior outfielder Lauren Salmonese (Poughkeepsie, NY/Poughkeepsie) were the others.

Junior infielder Bailey Olaveson, who was selected the New England Collegiate Conference Player of the Week on Monday, went 3-for-3 with a run scored to lead ENC (2-5).

Earlier in the day, RSC fell 5-2 to Wentworth.

A three-run fourth for the Leopards (4-1) proved to be the difference.

Lindsey went 2-for-3, while Dicranian had an RBI double.

RSC (2-7) concludes its Florida trip tomorrow with a pair of contests.  The Gators are scheduled to play SUNY Potsdam at 10:00 am and Berea at 12:30 pm.

Notes: The Gators have 12 returnees to this year's roster…Dicranian and senior outfielder Arianna Papas (Castleton, NY/Maple Hill) headline the dozen…The duo each earned All-Region honors from the NFCA last spring…Head Coach Erica Li, now in her fourth season, added seven newcomers to the squad.
