Dunn and Rimawi Named NFCA All-Region

LOUISVILLE – Senior Morgan Dunn (Cohoes, NY/Cohoes) and junior Katy Rimawi (Ballston Spa, NY/Ballston Spa) were named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Division III Northeast Region softball team.

The National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) is proud to announce the 364 players chosen for the 2016 NFCA Division III All-Region softball teams. As in the past, the squad is comprised of three teams in each of the country's eight NCAA regions.

Dunn was a First-Team selection at third base for the Gators. The senior, a two-time Skyline Player of the Week this season, was named the 2016 Skyline Player of the Year. On 136 at-bats, the third baseman recorded 64 hits, 50 RBI's, 42 runs, 20 doubles, nine homeruns, three stolen bases and one triple. After finishing second in the Skyline Championship, Dunn has a .471 average, 6th in Sage single-season records, and a .831 slugging percentage. Dunn was named Skyline Player of the Week twice this season. 

The senior ranks nationally in doubles (7th), doubles per game (12th, 0.5) and RBI's (14th). Dunn led the Skyline in runs, hits, RBI's, doubles, home runs and total bases (113). The Cohoes native has permanently etched her name in the Sage record books after only two seasons with the Gators. Dunn ranks in single-season doubles (1st, 20), single-season home runs (1st, nine), single-season RBI's (1st, 51), single-season hits (1st 64), career batting average (2nd, .428), single-season runs (4th, 42), career home runs (4th, 14), career RBI's (4th, 84), and career doubles (5th, 30). 

Rimawi was named to the Third-Team in the At-Large category after being named to the Skyline Conference First-Team. The outfielder had the best season of her two-year career at Sage with 55 hits, 45 RBI's, 42 runs, 12 doubles, 11 walks, seven home runs and five stolen bases on 143 at-bats. A Skyline Player of the Week once this season, Rimawi had a .385 batting average and a .615 slugging percentage. An Aggie Stillman Perseverance Award winner at Sage, the junior led the Skyline in runs and plate appearances (158). Rimawi has found her way into the Sage record books in single-season RBI's (2nd, 45), single-season home runs (3rd, seven), single-season runs (4th, 42), single-season hits (7th, 55), career home runs (7th, 11), and career RBI's (10th, 65).

Sage finished the year nationally ranked in doubles per game (4th, 2.26), slugging percentage (12th, .527), batting average (20th, .353) and home runs per game (29th, .76).
