Sage Wins 13th Straight Game

TROY, NY – Morgan Dunn (Cohoes, NY/Cohoes) went 6-8 with three home runs and 11 RBI's as Sage swept Yeshiva 15-2 (five innings) and 23-3 (five innings) in Skyline action Tuesday afternoon to extend their win streak to 13 games.

In game one, Dunn got the Gators up to an early 3-0 lead when she went yard over the left field fence in the bottom of the first. Sage (22-10, 13-1 Skyline) extended its lead to 11-0 in the bottom of the second off RBI's from Allison Ford (Mechanicville, NY/Mechanicville), Katy Rimawi (Ballston Spa, NY/Ballston Spa), Lindsay Brace (Moriah, NY/Moriah Central), Melissa Estremera (Millbrook, NY/Millbrook) and Dunn.

In the bottom of the third, Dunn and Silk scored off Silk and Brace RBI's to put the Gators up 13-0. Sage tacked on two more runs in the bottom of the second when Dunn went yard for a second time over the left field fence.

In the top of the fifth, Yeshiva (5-22, 2-16 Skyline) plated a pair of runs from Erin Potasnick and Shoshana Rozenberg off a Sage error, but it wouldn't be enough as Sage won 15-2 in five innings.

Brace (9-4) threw her first no-hitter of the season on a complete game, eight strikeout effort. Rachel Mirsky picked up the loss for Yeshiva.

The Gators took game two 23-3. Yeshiva got off to a 2-0 in the top of the first when Mirsky homered over the left field fence, but the rest of the game was all Sage from there. The Gators were led by Rimawi (5-5, two home runs, seven RBI's, four runs), Dunn (2-4, home run, five RBI's, three runs), Alexa Silk (Freehold, NY/Greenville) (3-4, three runs, RBI), Ford (2-5, four runs, RBI) and Jennifer Onwe (Tarrytown, NY/Sleepy Hollow) (2-2, home run, two RBI's, two runs).

Ford (5-4) picked on the win on a season-high ten strikeout effort while Mirsky (5-21) was credited with the loss.

Sage currently tops the Skyline with an 13-1 conference record. The Gators have clinched their spot in the Skyline Championship along with Mount Saint Mary (14-2), Mount Saint Vincent (13-3), Farmingdale State (12-4) and St. Joseph's-Long Island (9-5). The sixth and final spot is being fought for by Purchase (5-9), SUNY-Old Westbury (4-12) and St. Joseph's-Brooklyn (4-12). The top two teams will earn first round byes with the remaining teams playing on Apr. 27.

The Gators travel to SUNY-Polytechnic on Thu., Apr. 19 for a doubleheader beginning at 3:30 p.m.
