Troy, NY –The Sage College's softball team hosted Sarah Lawrence College in a Skyline Conference doubleheader on Friday afternoon at Robison Field. Sage took the pair winning both games in five innings, 15-0 in game one, and 11-0 in game two. Sage is now 7-9 overall and 2-2 in the league, while SLC drops to 0-12 overall and 0-2 in the league.

Sage jumped out to a 7-0 lead after the first inning, pushing another seven runs across the plate in the bottom half of the second inning. Junior first baseman Morgan Dunn (Cohoes, NY/Cohoes), sophomore short stop Jessica Adams (Nassau, NY/Columbia), and  rookie outfielder Alana Vandenburg (Wyantskill, NY/Colombia) each had two RBIs' in the action, while Adams and Vandenburg each added doubles as Sage connected for 11 hits in the game. Freshman Alexa Silk (Freehold, NY/Greenville) added a double and was 2-4 with two runs scored and an RBI to aid in the Gators' big win

Sage's junior pitcher Katie Kovage (Hoosick Falls, NY/Hoosick Falls Central) worked two innings with two hits allowed and four strikeouts before freshman Rachael Lashway (Queensbury, NY/Glens Falls) worked three innings with seven strikeouts and just one hit in earning the win.

SLC's freshman pitcher Kamaron McNair (Lawrenceville, NJ/The Hun School) took the loss after four earned runs off 11 hits with one strikeout and six walks.

Sophomore catcher Jocilyn Pak (Englewood Cliffs, NJ/Bergen Technical) had two of the Gryphon's three hits.

In the second game, senior Samantha Woitkoski (Troy, NY/Lansingburgh) and freshman Katy Rimawi (Ballston Spa, NY/Ballston Spa) each added doubles, while Woitkoski drove in two runs and was 2-2 at the plate. Rimawi was 3-3 with two double and an RBI, while junior Courtney Laughlin (Cohoes, NY/Cohoes) drove in two runs in the action.

Sophomore pitcher Lindsay Brace (Moriah, NY/Moriah Central) made the start in the circle and worked two scoreless innings with two strikeouts and three hits. Lashway got the win in relief as she fanned five and had no hits in improving to 2-0.

McNair took the loss in the nightcap after allowing 11 runs off 11 hits with six earned runs and one strikeout.

Among the many highlights from the Gators' pair of wins was a career record broken by senior utility player, Kristen Beikirch (Brockport, NY/Brockport). She went 2-3 on the day and surpassed the career record for most hits broken last season by Hillary Faas (193). Beikirch collected her 194th career hit in the Skyline twinbill.

Sage is back in action on April 7 travelling to Union College for a non-conference single game now starting at 4 p.m.
