Troy, NY – The Sage Colleges' softball team hosted the Rams of Farmingdale State on Sunday afternoon in the finals of the 2014 Skyline Conference Softball Tournament. The Rams posted a 10-0 win in five innings to capture the team's fourth straight league championship and the program's fifth title in the last six years. The Rams earned the Skyline Conference's automatic bid to the 2014 NCAA Division III Tournament, while Sage collects the program's second runner-up crown in the last three seasons. FSC is 23-12 on the year, while Sage is 23-13 and must await news of a possible ECAC Division III Tournament appearance.

The Rams tallied 11 hits on the day, including a grand slam from junior Michelle Mongiello (Elmont, NY/Sewanhaka) in the top of the fifth inning to boost her team to the win. She finished the game with a 3-4 effort and five RBI's, while sophomore catcher Meagan Anderson (Patochgue, NY/Patchogue-Medford) was 3-4 with three runs scored and an RBI. For the tournament, she batted .667 with four RBI's and a home run.

In the finals, junior pitcher Taylor Webb (West Babylon, NY/West Babylon) threw a no-hitter and fanned seven as she improves to 12-4 on the year.

For the Gators, rookie pitcher Lindsay Brace (Moriah, NY/Moriah) started and worked 3.2 innings with a strikeout after she yielded four earned runs off seven hits. She drops to 3-1 on the year. Sage's other rookie pitcher Erika Daigle (Clifton Park, NY/Shenendohowa) worked two thirds of an inning allowed one earned run off three hits. Sophomore Katie Kovage (Hoosick Falls, NY/Hoosick Falls Central) also threw for the Gators for two thirds of an inning.
