Faas and Pearson recognized by Skyline Conference

New York, NY – For the second straight week, The Sage College's senior short stop Hillary Faas (East Greenbush, NY/Columbia) has been named the Skyline Conference Softball Player of the Week for her outstanding play last week. Rookie outfielder, Frankie Pearson (Hoosick Falls, NY/Hoosick Falls Central) was named to the Skyline Conference Honor for the first time this season.

Faas batted .579 last week (11-for-19) with eight RBIs and five runs scored in a 4-1 week for the Gators. She added three walks and went 3-for-4 with three RBIs on April 16 as Sage edged Mount Saint Mary, 9-8. She had five hits in seven at-bats – including her sixth home run of the season – in a doubleheader sweep (8-1, 6-5) of Old Westbury on April 18. She was honored for the second time this season with the award. On the season, she is batting .491 with a team-best 44 RBI's, which is an active single-season mark. She has 56 hits, including 11 doubles, a triple and six home runs. On her career, she owns the records for most games played (146), most at-bats (483), most doubles (43), most home runs (20), and most RBI's (129).

Pearson was named to the Honor Roll for the first time this season games after she collected six hits, including three for extra bases and tallied four runs as well. On the season, Pearson has a .313 average with three doubles and a team-best five triples.
