Troy, NY – The Sage Colleges' softball team hosted the Fighting Tigers of SUNY-Cobleskill on Wednesday at Robison Field in a pair of non-conference games. The host Gators tallied an 8-3 win in game one and a 9-0 win in five innings in the nightcap. Sage is now 11-7 overall and riding a seven-game win streak. SUNY-Cobleskill falls to 0-2.

By day's end, Sage's senior short stop Hillary Faas (East Greenbush, NY/Columbia) penned her name to another career record as she now has 107 career RBI's, surpassing the mark held by Melissa Roy (105).

In the first game, junior Kristen Beikirch (Brockport, NY/Brockport) was 4-5 at the plate with two doubles. She was joined with her offensive output by Faas who was also 4-5 with two RBI's.

Sage's sophomore pitcher Katie Kovage (Hoosick Falls, NY/Hoosick Falls Central) recorded 12 strikeouts in earning the complete game win and is now 6-5.

In the nightcap, sophomore Lauren Cooney (Wynantskill, NY/Troy) connected for a three-run home run to pace the Gators to the win as they scored six runs in their first at-bats. Beikirch added two more doubles on the day and now has 10 on the season, while leading the Gators with her 29 hits. 

Sage's freshman pitcher Erika Daigle (Clifton Park, NY/Shenendehowa), the Skyline Conference Pitcher of the Week, earned the win to improve to 5-2 after she scattered two hits and posted the shutout win after fanning 11 batters in five innings of work. She now has 73 strikeouts on the season, which already ranks No. 4 in Sage's single-season record book.

The Gators are back in action on Saturday, April 5 will face NYU-Poly in a pair of Skyline Conference games, which will take place at Wagner College with a 1p.m. start.
