Troy, NY--After just missing the 2012 Skyline Conference Championship crown and a spot in the NCAA Division III Championship, the 2012 Sage Gators have been extended a spot to compete in the upcoming 2012 Eastern College Athletic Conference Metro NY-NJ Softball Championship. Sage garnered the No. 2 seed and a tournament first-round bye.
A program first for the softball team at Sage, the Gators will continue to add momentum to an already growing list of new high-water marks and record breaking performances when they travel to top seeded Richard Stockton College (Pomona, NJ), May 12-13 to compete at the ECAC's.
Overall on the 2012 season, the Gators are enjoying an incredible run that includes a school-record 26 wins, including another record with a streak of 13 straight victories as well.
Sage opens tournament play on Saturday, May 12 in the double-elimination formatted tournament facing the winner of the mid-week game as #3 SUNY-Old Westbury defeated # 6 Brooklyn College. Sage's first game will take place at Noon on Saturday.
