Troy, NY----Members of The Sage Colleges softball team were recognized by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) girls got game/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete Team. Sage placed four student-athletes on the 2010 team after they excelled in the classroom, achieving a 3.5 of higher grade-point-average. Overall, the 2009-2010 Gators combined for an impressive 3.192 team cumulative grade-point-average and were ranked 69th in Division III for their accomplishments in the classroom.
Headlining the team for the Gators were 2010 team Gator Award winner as the Most Valuable Player and 2009-2010 Skyline Conference Woman of the Year, senior Kellie Jones (Troy, NY/Troy), junior co-captain Allison Bishop (Troy NY/Lansingburgh), junior Jaime Handford (Berlin, NY/Berlin), and sophomore Ashley Eberle (Delmar, NY/Bethlehem Central).
