Sage's Mallory Ingalls earns acclaim from Skyline Conference

 

Troy, NY--- The Skyline Conference announced the 2010 all-stars in softball on Tuesday and The Sage Colleges placed rookie catcher, Mallory Ingalls (Oriskany, NY/Oriskany Central) on the All-Star Second Team at catcher.

Ingalls broke into Sage’s lineup and proceeded to start every game for the Gators behind the plate and finished the season as the squad’s second leading hitter after connecting on a .351 average at the plate in 34 starts. Ingalls led the Gators with her 23 RBIs in 2010 and had 55 total bases, which was second best on the team. She added seven doubles, a triple and four home runs to finish with a .567 slugging percentage. She added 34 hits and committed just six errors in 132 total chances for a .955 fielding percentage.

By season’s end, she has added her name to the single-season record book after her 97 at-bats, which is ninth best in the single-season record book. Her seven doubles in fourth highest for a season, while her four home runs is third best and her 23 RBIs is ninth best.

For the season, Sage would post an 8-26 record with a 3-11 mark in the Skyline Conference. The Gators finished the year on a tear as they won eight of their last 11 games.
