Sage Softball Drop Two Games To Skidmore

Troy, NY - The Sage Colleges softball team dropped a paire of games to local rival Skidmore College, 8-9 and 6-13 respectively.  

The Gators went ahead early in game one when Allison Bishop (Troy, NY) hit a double to score Rebecca Greggory (Hudson, NY) in the top of the first to put the Gators up 1-0.  Skidmore managed to put three runs on the board in the top of the third on a homerun with two people on base by Lauren Dinsdale.  Heading into the bottom of the fifth Sage found themselves down 4-5 when Sara Ryesdorph (Troy, NY) hit a grand slam to put the Gators up 8-5.  The Thoroughbreads scored   Kristen Knights pitched a complete for the Gators giving up sixteen hits and four earned runs. 


In the second game of the day the Thoroughbreads went ahead 5-3 at the end of the first inning and never looked back.  Kellie Jones (Troy, NY) and Jen Ahearn (Cohoes, NY) hi-lited the first inning with back to back home runs for the Gators.  Sage managed to get two more runners across the plate before the game was called due to darkness in the sixth inning. 

The Gators return to Robison Field Thursday, April 9th when they host Cazenovia College at 3pm.
