Sage Softball Splits With Conference Leading Farmingdale

Troy, NY - The fifth place Gators managed to split with Skyline Conference leader SUNY Farmingdale Saturday afternoon, dropping the first game 0-4, and picking up the win in the second game 3-2. 

Kristen Knights (Chatham, NY) recorded the loss for Sage in the first game of the day.  The Gators were held scoreless en route to a 0-4 loss to the Rams. 

In game two the Gators used a sixth inning rally to secure the win, 3-2.  Kellie Jones (Troy, NY) stepped to the plate with the Gators trailing 1-2 and hit a solo home run to tie it up.  Jen Ahearn (Cohoes, NY) roped a triple to put the go ahead run in scoring position.  Maria Pasquareli (Amsterdam, NY) bunted Ahearn across the plate to put Sage up 3-2 and the Gators held on over final inning and a half to secure the win over the conference leader.  Ahearn finished the game 2-3, while Kristen Knights (Chatham, NY) recorded the win for Sage. 

The Gators return to the field Sunday, April 19th as they face St. Joseph's College in Long Island at 1pm.
