Sage Drops A Pair Of Games To Cazenovia

Troy, NY - The Sage Colleges softball team dropped a pair of games to non conference opponent Cazenovia College Thursday afternoon at Robison Field, 4-16 and 4-9, respectively. 

In the first game of the afternoon the Gators found themselves down early and couldn't recover. Cazenovia scored four runs in the top of the first inning to gain the lead and keep it for the rest of the game.   Allison Bishop (Troy, NY) and Kellie Jones (Troy, NY) each went 2-3 with two singles, respectively.  Jessica Meyers (Caddyville, NY) also went 2-3 for Sage with a double, a triple and an RBI.  Sarah Rysedorph (Troy, NY) recorded the loss for the Gators.


In the second game the Gators found themselves with a 4-3 heading into the top of the seventh inning.  The Wildcats rallied to score six runs, including a three run homerun to take the 4-9 lead and hang on for the win.  Jones led Sage going 2-4 with a single, a double and an RBI.  Kristen Knights (Chatham, NY) recorded the loss for the Gators, allowing seven earned runs, twelve hits and striking out four.

The Gators return to action when they host conference opponent Purchase College at 12pm on Saturday, April 11th at Robison Field
