RSC Men's Cross Country Team Hosts Empire 8 Championship

Greenwich, NY— Russell Sage College's women's and men's cross country teams served as the host institution for the 2021 Empire 8 Cross Country Championships on Saturday. The event was held at Washington County Fairgrounds. The men's race, an 8,000 meter distance, was captured by Nazareth College with their score of 32 points.

The men's individual champion, SJFC's senior Grant Stokoe posted a time of 25:39.5 to capture the crown and be named the Male Runner of the Meet.

Leading the way for the Gator men's team was junior Joe Degiorgio (Troy, NY/Troy) as he posted a time of 28:22.9 to finish in 25th place.

Graduate runner Holden Maynard (Schenectady, NY/Mohanasen) was next in 33rd place in 29:35.8.

Senior captain Brett Labier (Albany, NY/Colonie) was next in 39th place in 34:00.3. Rookie Isaac Langer (Hudson, NY/Hudson) was next for the Gators in 41st place with his time of 35:32.5. Freshman Chad Hicks (New York, NY/Urban Assembly Maker Academy) was 44th in 38:46.7.

The Gators will be back in action on November 13 competing at the 2021 Atlantic Regional Championships hosted by Connecticut College at Harkness Memorial Park.
