Gators cross country runners close season at 2015 NCAA Atlantic Regionals

Mt. Morris, NY –The Sage men's cross country team was in action at the 2015 NCAA Division III Atlantic Regionals at Letchworth State Park. In the men's race,  Sage men's team picked up a 40th place finish.

In the men's team race, Geneseo also picked up first place with a team score of 54, while sophomore runner Isaac Garcia-Cassani from the Geneseo Knights won the men's 8,000 k course in in 25:11.1.

For Sage's men's team, the top Gator runner was the program's veteran leader and first four-time all-conference performer, captain Juan Reyes-Alvarez (Latham, NY/Shaker). Racing in his last event as a Gator, Reyes-Alvarez took 184th in 28:47.0 on the 8 k course.

Newcomer Zack Funk (Gloversville, NY/Gloversville) picked up a 201st place showing in 29:19.0, while rookie Jarryd Wick (Ayer, MA/Parker Charter Essential) finished in 256th in 32:14.2.   

Junior Ian Alejandro (Amsterdam, NY/Amsterdam) was next for the Gators in 269th in 33:54.4. Rookie Malik McNeish (Bronx, NY/The Eagle Academy for Young Men) added a 277th place finish in 39:51.9 and rounding out the lineup for Sage was sophomore Daesean Clay (Danbury, CT/Danbury) in 43:32.5 to finish in 278th place.
