Reyes-Alvarez becomes program's first four-time Skyline All-Conference performer

MILTON, NY – Juan Reyes-Alvarez became the first four-time All-Skyline Conference runner in Sage history at the Skyline Championship on Sunday afternoon.

Reyes-Alvarez edged St. Joseph's (Long Island) Nick Morfesi by less than .6 seconds with his 29:10.3 finish. The senior placed 5th in the 97-man field and was named First-Team All-Conference.

Zack Funk, a two-time Skyline Rookie of the Week this season, broke into the top 15 with a 14th place finish of 30:38.3. Funk was named Second-Team All-Conference.

Sage's no. three runner, Jarryd Wick, had an exciting finish of his own by edging Farmingdale's Patrick Coleman by three seconds in his 31st finish.

Ian Alejandro turned in a 68th place finish with a time of 36:42.5.

Rounding out the Sage field was Malik McNeish with a 40:53.7 time.

St. Joseph's (L.I.) Ryan Haun was the individual winner with a time of 28:45.5

The Gators finished in 7th place as a team, one place better than was predicted by the preseason coaches poll. Maritime won the Skyline title with a score of 42 points.

Sage is set to run at the NCAA Division III Region Meet on Sat. Nov. 14 at a site to be determined.
