Sage men's cross country team opens season with a 9th place finish at Wildcat Short Course

Marcy, NY –The Sage men's cross country team was in action at the SUNY-Polytechnic Wildcat Short Course race. Sage's men's team posted a ninth place finish in a field of 13 teams.

Sage's men's team was paced once again on the day by veteran leader and three-time Gator of the Year performer, senior Juan Reyes-Alvarez (Latham, NY/Shaker). He picked up a 23rd place finish in 21:08 and helped the Gators to a ninth place team finish with a score of 265, behind first place Oswego State's 39 points.
 

Newcomer Zack Funk picked up a 40th place showing in 22:39, while rookie Jarryd Wick finished in 50th in 24:07.

Junior Ian Alejandro was next for the Gators in 69th in 26:25, while rookie Malik McNeish added an 83rd place showing in 32:54.

The Gators will be back in action on Saturday, September 12 travelling to SUNY-Cobleskill for the Tiger Invitational.
