Reyes-Alvarez finishes in second as Gators take home fourth at GMC Invitational

Rutland, VT – The Sage Colleges' men's cross country team was in action on Saturday competing at the Green Mountain College Invitational. The Gator men finished in fourth place.

Sage's men's team was complete and finished in fourth place in a field of five teams. SUNY-Cobleskill won the men's race after posting a score of 33 for the 8 k course. Sage posted a score of 106 on the day and was paced by the efforts of junior captain Juan Reyes-Alvarez (Latham, NY/Shaker) as he almost won the race. He took home second place behind his time of 27:26.

Senior Taylor McMillen (Wynantskill, NY/Averill Park) finished the race in 33:43 and picked up 22nd place. Senior Anthony Crawford (Bronx, NY/Frederick Douglass Academy) posted a time of 35:13 and took 24th place.  Junior Nick Haas (Malone, NY/Franklin Academy) was next for the Gators in 28th in 37:12, while rookie Donald Edwards (Brooklyn, NY/James Westinghouse) posted a time of 41:54 and took home 30th place.

Sage's teams are back in action on October 26 travelling to the Milton, New York for the Hudson Valley Sports Dome for the 2014 Skyline Conference Championships.
