Men's volleyball trio among NCAA Statistics leaders for 2023 camapign

Indianapolis, IN – With the 2023 men's volleyball season wrapped, the NCAA has released the final statistics for the year and Russell Sage College's team and a few players finished the year nationally ranked in NCAA Division III.

As a team, the Gators ranked 30th nationally with 1.92 aces per set average under the direction of second-year head coach Reid Hartl.

Graduate performer and team co-captain Ryan Jennings (North Brunswick, NJ/North Brunswick Township) was ranked nationally in two categories. The setter was 33rd with his 0.495 aces per set average, while ranking 91st with 5.20 setting assists per match. Jennings wraps his outstanding career as a Gator having broken the career mark for the most sets played (456), the most matches played (139), while finishing second for the most career setting assists (2,714) and second with his 135 aces. His 488 career digs stands eighth best, while he also added 170 career kills during his time on the court. As a member of the Gators this year, he played in 107 sets across all 33 matches. He added 557 setting assists to lead the team, while connecting a team-best 53 aces and added 113 digs. He averaged 1.06 digs per set as well as 5.2 setting assists per set and finished with 110.5 points in 2023.

Senior opposite Elijah Tortorici (Clifton Park, NY/Mohonasen) was 83rd with his 0.396 aces per set average, while also ranking in the top 200 players in attacks per set and points per set averages. In his two seasons with the Gators appeared in 161 sets in 62 matches and racked up 265 kills, 338.5 points, 40 total blocks with 51 aces and 186 digs.  

Sophomore setter Jack McWilliam (Fishkill, NY/Arlington) was 77th nationally with a 2.16 digs per set average. He led the Gators with his 233 digs in 33 matches played on the campaign.
